Lawler vs. Condit

I can't wait for this! It's gonna be such a war. Condit's been saying he has no intentions on making it a war... I highly doubt it's anything but. 
Condit's a very technical, powerful striker, yet his volume is what makes it so good. It's hard to win a decision against him because of it. I think this is a perfect fight stylistically for him. Unless Robbie actually uses his wrestling that he rarely offensively uses...
I can't get that third round of the Rory/Robbie fightout of my head, though... That head kick hurt Robbie bad. There'll be a lot of those coming from Condit. And when Carlos hurts him, he's gonna keep it coming. And not just with more head kicks and punches. Elbows, knees, etc. will be used as well. And Carlos won't fade like Rory. He's got cardio for days.
I just can't see how Robbie wins this unless he uses wrestling along with his striking. Even if he does, Carlos' ground game is sick. Too many factors for me to pick against Condit. Who knows, though. Robbie may be able to pull something out of his ass again...

"Robbie Lawler has suffered an injury this week during training...and has not been cleared to fly by his doctors".

I suppose this could mean a lot of things, but none of them can be good for a fight one month away.

Not an easy pick

This fight is completely up for grabs.

This will be a war.

Condit only loses to people who put him on his ass (besides Rory, he was on his way to losing via ass putting, but pulled through).


Lawler won't be able to do this repeatedly.


So that means this fight will be decided on the feet.


Whoever body gives in first will lose, both these guys take hits and give them back twice as hard. I feel like Lawler starts slow, but gains momentum.  Condit pulls through the momentum to come out on top so I think that. ..


Lawler will win round 1&4, Condit 2,3& slightly edge out the 5th for the decision win.

I have to go with Lawler because while Condit's fought once since tearing his ACL and went 2 rounds, Lawler's gotten experience with 5 round fights by going 5 full rounds with Brown & Hendricks(twice) and also went into the fifth with Rory. Also because it seems to be impossible to avoid getting your face wrecked against Lawler and Condit was bleeding all over in the GSP fight. I just hope this fight is as good as it sounds.

There, I fixed it for you (since, I'm pretty sure that if Robbie wanted to he could take Condit down but find a hard time thinking it'll creep anywhere near his gameplan).

I think Condit would tear Lawler up from the bottom if it goes there, he has good sweeps also.  Then again I thought the same of Matt Brown.

Really a tossup and a treat for us fans. The reason this should be a tossup is Lawler isn't the stereotypical fighter that Condit struggles with. And that's a fighter that will put him on his rear. I think Condit will be the overall better striker here but Lawler has that fight ending power at any point of the fight. He finished Rory in the 5th and was on his way to losing that one and had Hendricks in all sorts of trouble in the last half minute of their 5 rounder. That barrage most likely won that fight for him in hind site.


Such a difficult fight to pick, currently leaning toward the Ruthless one though.

Good way to start the year.

****, this is a fight that I didn't agree with when it was made,but now I can't wait for tomorrow. I had a hard time picking but I think Carlos will pick up the pace in the third round and finish in the fourth. But I hate picking against Robbie because he has been relevant since I have been watching mma. Plus he's an old school miletich guy. I have so much respect for those guys.
